It’s one of those days, nothing much going on and still being on ’sabbatical’, so we roamed around Orchard area again. To soothe the grumbling stomach after some walking bouts, we ended up in the new Ion Orchard shopping mall.
I haven’t been to this fancy and posh food court called Food Opera. As soon as we stepped into the ‘opera theatre’ where the cooks are the instrument players, we were greeted with a mixture of wooden and marble tables, as well as lots of pretty chandeliers.
We walked around and another round, then we decided to go for Fatty Weng stall that serves scrumptious local fare – radish/carrot cake, char keow toay and fried oyster (with scrambled eggs).
I opt for a $7 (large) plate to share with bebe. The oysters were given in abundance and the omelette was well done. I like all things with coriander and spring onion and they did it the exact way I like.

Ever since I came to Singapore, I have fallen in love with the thick and luscious red tea here. To end this great lunch, what else but a satisfying cuppa (with evaporated milk, $1.50)?
