I like the simplicity of olive oil and chillies flavour, subtle basil and some garlic worked out wonder to the dish, however the portion was not as big as the price.
A portion meant for two, but four of us shared it anyway. The price justified the quality. All of the items in the platter were grilled to perfection, tasted good (even though flavoured with salt & pepper and EVO only in my opinion) .
And oh yes, you will be served a complimentary basket of warm and soft bread with soft butter before main courses arrive, sounds good eh?
This set comprised of chips (refried? it was overdone but bearable), sultana butter rice, crayfish, fish chunks, prawns, mussels and scallops. Some salad leaves and sweet peppers too.
A glass of carbonated drink cost $3. And I would like to commend this restaurant for serving cold water with ice cubes (free of course). Yes, it’s quite rare in the restaurants here to have such ‘behaviour’.
Please excuse these weird looking pictures, I didn’t bring my camera along when we decided to have a dinner here spontaneously. Hence, I borrowed bebe’s Nokia E71 camera phone to snap these shots, the colours were quite off.
~~ Revisited on 19-Jan-2013 ~~
The platter had substantial amount of quality seafood, well cooked and fresh.
The platter consisted of a small pot of mussels, large pile of fries, fried calamari, grilled lobster, grilled fish fillets, squid and prawns too, as well as grilled vegetable cubes.
After 3 years break, we were back here to celebrate two family members’ birthdays.
The management changed and so was the interior.
It is now white washed, brightly lit and very clean lined.
The light batter was crispy, flaky flesh inside, good texture.
I hope the seasoning on the batter or the fish itself could stand out as the overall palette was pretty bland, if not for the tartar sauce served aside.
Currently, they are running 10% off total bill during normal operating hours, 20% off during brunch hours.
