Down Under, Towards West & a Lumix LX5 to come

In a blink of eyes, a year has zoom passed
And my birthday is approaching *ahem*
Not looking forward that

Before that
I have two trips planned
Very much due to obligations
Which are perfect excuses
To get away from the humidity and troubles
For a while

First stop would be first ever Melbourne trip in mid-October

It will be spring time then!
I have started looking out for the not-to-miss dining spots here
Also from Melbourne tourism board to start off the research

A month later

I will be embracing the total opposite weather
A winter birthday celebration for my dad and myself
On the cold and grey emerald island
Spending some quality time and souvenir showering
That sort of thing

Luckily, I would not be missing all the upcoming shots
With the much anticipated Lumix LX-5
It is going to be in my life within 9 days!
I can’t wait
Food pictures, sight catching would be alive again
After enduring through the point&shoot Canon Ixus & my poor camera phone

  1. You’ll love Melbourne. Great foodie places to check out – Cumulus Inc, Cutler and Co, Movida (Tapas), Hutong Dumplings (always busy!), Shark’s Fin Restaurant in Chinatown (great for lobster, crab and dim sum), Malaysian – Kopitiam Mamak @ QV Square, or there is another Kopitiam in Chinatown.

There are plenty of restaurants in the Crown Casino Complex like Rockpool, Nobu, Maze.

Also check out Degreaves St, which is opposite Flinders Station in the heart of the city, great cafes.

If you want to check inner Melbourne city, accessible by tram
    – Babka Bakery Cafe in Fitzroy,
    – Prahran Markets in Prahran
    – Il Fornaio in St Kilda (http://www.ilfornaio.net.au/)
    – Acland St in St Kilda is also interesting for pastisseries.

Drop me an email if you have any questions.

  2. Charmaine: Thanks for the great tips! Will put these pointers down onto my list ^_^ cheers!
Christine: Thanks, I’m sure I will like it too!
