St Leaven Bakery; Peck Milano Bakery (SG)

If you frequent basement 2 (food hub) of Takashimaya shopping centre, you will be greeted with two bakeries side by side at the entrance.

I especially adore St Leaven (see below), and newly opened Peck (under Four Leaves Bakery chain) is doing not bad at all.

Spinach bacon calzone (Peck) – S$2.10

I suppose this is an imitation calzone, the wrap was made of soft bread instead of pizza dough.

Filling was quite bacon-y and full of spinach leaves, just lacking something creamy to bind them all.

I aim to try their other offerings next time round like sundried tomato bread, mini pizzas and etc.

I have always been stocking up on baguette, scones (walnut & chocolate chip), croissants from here every so often.

For her economical pricing and reasonably great flavours & textures!

Baguette S$2.50 (St Leaven)

This baguette could last in the fridge for about 3 – 4 days from the day of purchase.

Toast it in the oven for just 3 – 5 minutes, you will be rewarded with one that is crispy outside, soft inside, perfect with some butter spread.

Improvised croissant (St Leaven) stuffed with smoked salmon & butter

The croissant itself is S$1.20.

I bought it home, toast it for a short while, stuff it with my favourite filling.

Crispy exterior, buttery interior, for 1/3 of the other French bakeries, can’t beat this!
