Anticlockwise: (Front) Croissant, (Left) Kouign Aman; (Back) Chocolate Brioche; (Right) Croissant  au Chocolat

I will recommend the above four varieties and the sweet pastry below.

Breakdown of pricing:

Chocolate Brioche S$3+ – more chocolate filling would be better
Croissant S$2.50+ – to me, this is perfect!
Croissant au Chocolat S$3.20+ – again, more chocolate filling please!
Kouign Aman S$3.50+ – not sure what’s the fuss about this pastry, it’s glazed and literally a puff pastry composition only
*added on 25-May-12* came across a Kouign Amann intro and recipe, now I know the fuss about it!

Favourite got to be the croissant, and brioche.

For the squid ink fans, they’ve squid ink brioche too.

I will be back to sit in with a cuppa and a chocolate tart!

Pineapple passion fruit and mango tart, S$7+ for a rectangular slice

The crispy tart base was a delight.

And the sweet & tart fruit cubes,  so juicy and bursting with fruity goodness, very much enjoyed with the toasty almond flakes for extra crunch.

About the baker (GontranCherrier, actually never heard of him though I read intensively about Paris based bakers) who joined on this venture with Spa Esprit Group, have a read about him.

Chocolate Mendiant S$6.50

Luxurious thick chocolate ganache, and a very textured (not crumbly though) tart base. Surprises you will find within are the spiced fruits and some chopped nuts, reminds me of imminent Christmas at this time of the year.
