Dolcetto is probably the first sweet house lauching the savoury macarons, there are two ‘salty’ varieties offered – one being (the one in black above) squid ink shells with smoked salmon centre, it worked!
Crunchy outer macaron shell, with fudgy bottom, no air bubbles…and the briny squid ink filling with a real smoked salmon slice enveloped within, very nice. A different take on the sweet nutty flavours.
On the classic flavours, I prefer chocolate and caramel the most, good textures and real flavours. Except some macaron shells came a little harder. Less sweet compared to Canele Patisserie ones in general, which’s my preference.
T’was quite pricey for a smallish berries tart.
However, the ‘blossoming’ arrangement of these fresh looking berries screamed at me to take it home, I succumbed.
I was glad with the choice, the fresh and tart mixed berries complimented the smooth sweet custard below.
Oh, the tart shell was so well made, firm and crunchy, yet yielded easily to the slight bite of teeth.
