Bangkok Eat & Shop

Siam Paragon at night
.
Siam Centre (just right opposite Siam Paragon), linked up too by a bridge
A newly opened Mont Blanc Cafe inside Siam Centre (just recently re-opened after a major revamp this month).
A cafe named after Mont Blanc has to have Mont Blanc, but the chestnut icing swirls seemed too plain.
They offer macarons too!
So I bought one Mont 25Blanc (~130THB) and a box of macaron (~30THB each).
I passed by Mr Jones Orphanage bakery cafe inside Siam Centre as well, but didn’t get to sit in, ah well…next time.
Have to stop by this huge MBK mall right?!
Trying to get a seat at Coffee Stars by Dao outlets in general was not easy during any weekday afternoon, after two failed attempts out of impatience, we decided to take away two of their signature cakes and consumed at the benches provided in the mall. Pretty good atmosphere, just a little messy! Advantage, no service charge nor GST imposed on take away items! Frugal eh!
Vanilla Mille Crepe ~S$5 (after conversion back in early Jan 2013)
Food Republic (yes the one from Singapore) is housed at the top floor inside Siam Centre and we had one of our dinners here.
One of the stalls only does Pad Thai and they seemed popular, and so here’s a snippet of the store’s background.
I had the egg wrapped version (~110 THB), it was a huge generous portion and delicious!
He had this sort of westernised Thai set meal at about SGD6
Pier 21 on Level 5
Inside the massive food court
We also visited the new mall in town – Terminal 21. Every floor is a city themed, the layout assimilates airport terminology. Here is one of the floors.

Located and linked to Asok BTS stop.

From the same food court, we tried out the durian sticky rice…
Level 5 – Pier 21 of this mall houses a huge food court with very affordable meals (compared to Food Republic pricing). I had the green curry fried rice & tom yam soup for 93 THB only. And the duck rice is about 50 THB.
My favourite-st mango sticky rice!
I captured this decorative piece inside the ladies’ washroom!
