I like this quieter stretch of Killiney Road leading up to the nearby residential area.

Even though it is just off the main Orchard Road shopping belt.

Fried beancurd skin with prawn paste S$4.40

We decided to pop by for a ‘second course’ of Sunday lunch, after a visit to Bak Mie Jakarta located on the second floor of the coffee shop/food court down the road.

I had iced tea with fresh milk (not evaporated milk) and he had iced coffee with fresh milk too (approx. S$1.80 each), refreshing and not too sweet like typical kopi shop ones.

Thin layer of prawn paste within, crispy bean curd skin on the outside – quite ordinary.

The famous first-and-only durian rice roll! S$5.90

This durian rice roll was the main draw to this cafe.

Freshly steamed rice roll, the skin was not thick yet thin and stretchy enough not to tear easily.

As a first timer here, I found the pulpy durian filling within was pretty decent.

Weird enough, the crushed peanuts added not only the necessary texture to the overall palette, also help to complement the durian taste.

Cool dish! Ingenious – only found here in Singapore.

This is the very shop that invented this dish, elsewhere would be ‘imitation’ really.

I will be keen to try their congee range next time round.

Fried mince prawn with sweetcorn – approx. S$4.80

We ordered it off the menu without expecting this pleasant surprise, ain’t fantastic but sure interesting presentation.

The very gooey, creamy texture of the congee was great. A pity the base congee wasn’t flavourful, and stingy slices of fish.
