A lunch here was simple and oh-so good.
Tamoya being the only udon-specialised shop in Singapore is a gem, especially for a non-ramen fan like me.
The flat and think udon served was chewy and bouncy.
The shop operates in 100% self-service mode, including returning your food tray!
Get an idea of the broth base you want (see here for an idea), place order at the counter, pick your favourite tempura at an extra cost of course, then proceed to the cashier to make payment.
Udon itself, tempura, also onigiri are available here for take away too.
By the time I reached cashier, the udon bowl was ready like in a matter of minute!
Pick up your food on the tray, proceed to the condiment section and that’s where the fun began.
My condiments were essentially the toppings seen above, the unassuming clear broth was flavourful itself and brought alive by those tempura shredding, fried garlic bits, wakameme….etc.
I will be back for their egg yolk udon and perhaps the curry ones too.
