This was the first for me visiting Crystal Jade Jiang Nan concept restaurant.
We ordered just three dishes among ourselves for sharing…
The mini baos packed with enough flavour and minced meat, came in a variety of flavours – cheese, truffle, spinach, etc…
Some of them tasted the same in my opinion.
Ain’t fantastic ain’t bad either.
The favourite local dish of cereal prawns took on the Szechuan twist – dried chilli thrown in for a spicy treat (rather than the usual chopped cili padi hidden amongst the buttered cereal flakes).
There were fried curry leaves as usual, fresh prawns with crunchy shells in tact.
Worth a try.
The broth was light yet flavourful enough. Some tau pok (deep fried tofu) were added to soak up the piquant chilli oil.
Quite some beef chunks which were just tender to spare me from intense chewing exercise.
Overall, the price tags in Jiang Nan concept under Crystal Jade group were reasonable.
Either communal dishes or individual dishes were available.
I am not familiar with China’ geography so wiki-up the meaning here:
