Sunny Hills complimentary pineapple cake and Oolong tea upon visiting
Wu Fen Pu wholesale market, lanes after lanes of garments!
We finally found it after a good 20 minutes walk from some MRT station that I’ve forgotten
Inside Chia Te bakery, the pastries on the counter are selling out so fast that they are still warm to touch and had all the fresh textures!
Chia Te egg tart, guess had to buy one to try and it didn’t disappoint! Thick layer of silky smooth egg custard and slightly crunchy and butter crust.
Just a few steps away from Chia Te Bakery, another promising bakery that prides itself with egg custard served in egg shells! Why not have one?! Name not captured :(
The egg pudding served in egg shell!
Ning Xia Night Market – the night market with most authentic Taiwanese street food, too bad it was a very rainy night, so couldn’t eat and snap pictures….here is the signage at night anyways.
Hua Xi Street Night Market – near Long Shan temple met by passing, it was so interesting, restaurants serving snakes are one heck of a feature here…
Here is one of the eye catching restaurant serving snakes inside the night market.
Guess this python is to be kept instead of consuming…yikes!
Long Shan Temple at night, a truly iconic spot in Taipei
Snapshot of Long Shan Temple
The romantic display (can I describe it that way?) of lanterns along part of the temple surrounding
Chiang Kai Shek (CKS) Memorial entrance
The view from the main building at Chiang Kai Shek – CKS Memorial
The zoomed out view overlooking the huge front garden at CKS
Pretty and well manicured tress along one of the courts at CKS
The guard changing ceremony at CKS main hall
Chun Shui Tang 春水堂 – We stopped by this very nice bubble tea shop inside CKS Memorial compound for a break.
An appetizer from Chun Sui Tang – Dou Gan (bean curd) in spicy sesame paste, good stuff!
The display of figurines at Xin Beitou MRT platform
Beitou Thermal Valley here we are…but it was a Monday and most it was closed! Including museum too :(
So, the only Beitou thermal water we could experience it’s the one streaming through this little ‘village’, downstream, there are people getting down to this warm stream of thermal water dipping their feet…
Taipei 101 at night, a foggy drizzly night it was
The up shot of Taipei 101
The far shot of Taipei 101
Agnes B LPG cafe pit stop somewhere near Taipei 101, Ginger Hot Chocolate and a Dark Chocolate Mousse Cake, ain’t cheap! This cost about SGD11+
To my surprise, I chanced upon Jean Paul Hevin dine-in cafe at the higher floor inside Taipei 101, no take-away at all except for sweets. Man…too bad I didn’t have the appetite before the dinner.
Sadaharu Aoki finally I found, this is the other branch at the gourmet food market at the basement of Bella Vita mall
Some shots of the spring 2014 theme macarons at SA stall
We bought four items at SA shop, 2 macarons, 1 Bamboo cake (made of green tea) and one Matcha Millefeuille
Close up of the SA’s Matcha Millefeuille, the crisp layering was evenly smeared with delicious smoky caramel…
We passed by Taipei City Hall and met with the Panda campaign i.e. early March
One of the few big pandas display near Taipei City Hall during the campaign
Our very enjoyable and pleasant stay at Dandy Hotel at the Da’an Park branch
They have this handy dandy remote panel to control all settings in the room – A/C, full fledged satellite channels, lighting, etc…
The well stocked quality pantry items just by the entrance, tiny but mighty
The cozy double bed and light display within Dandy hotel room
